I was talking to a colleague at work the other day about how I've been looking into different locations as potential inspiration for my book proposal and he told me about a town under the lake in pennsylvania and immediately it seemed like a really interesting concept to me!
In 1946 the entire village was flooded as part of plans to expand the nearby dam. The idea of a city under water has always really interested me, I like the idea that it has been preserved.
I thought that having a skull island would be an interesting concept, with it's head barely surfacing the lake and the city within it's jaw.
This is going to be one of the main characters destinations on the way to uncovering why there are there etc. I was originally going to turn this into the main cover, however, with the first section of the comic being set around the woods, it made sense for that to be the front covers.
